Statements by Mirko Lange and Björn Bröhl
I would like to inform you today that our founder and long-standing Managing Director Mirko Lange will be retiring completely from the operational business of Scompler on August 31, 2025. As CEO and Managing Director of Scompler , my aim is to ensure strategic continuity on the one hand and to consistently drive forward the next phase of the company's development on the other.
Mirko is responsibly turning to something new - seven years after founding Scompler, which has since made the transition from a pioneering start-up to a fully professional, scalable technology company. Mirko's visionary ideas and dedication have been crucial to a success story that today has over 450 organizations relying on our solution
What Mirko will be doing in the future is best described by himself. All I can say is that it suits him. It is consistent, courageous and socially relevant.
Dear Mirko, thank you for your ideas, your vision and your energy. And I am delighted that you will remain with us as a shareholder.
Björn Bröhl
CEO Scompler Technologies GmbH
After more than ten years of establishment, development and passion, I will be retiring completely from Scompler 's operational business on August 31, 2025. I will remain closely involved with the company as a shareholder - and look forward to continuing to play a strategic role in shaping Scompler 's future behind the scenes.
Scompler has developed from its foundation into one of the leading, internationally competitive providers of strategic content management. With over 450 customers - including numerous DAX companies - Scompler is now much more than a tool: It is a SaaS platform that sets standards.
Seven years after its foundation, the transition from a start-up to a fully professional, scalable technology company is complete. Now it needs consistent, entrepreneurial leadership. With Björn Bröhl as CEO, Scompler is excellently positioned for this: technology-oriented, focused, visionary and future-proof. I am happy to place further development entirely in his hands with absolute confidence. In doing so, I am also creating the basis for turning my full attention to a new task in the future - one that not only moves me professionally, but also socially. With Democracy Intelligence, I am now building a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of the democratic public sphere: the strategic strengthening of democratic and constitutional narratives, the broad ability to classify information - and the defense and shaping of open, pluralistic digital debate spaces.
Like many others, I am very concerned about global developments, the rise of extremist forces and the situation of the media, including social media. The threat of targeted disinformation is real and very dangerous. It is systematic, emotionalized and often unscrupulous. The defense of democratic discourse is not yet - neither structurally nor technologically. And too often it works unconsciously against itself. That won't be enough in the long term.
My in-depth analysis does not paint a picture that makes me really confident: there is a huge amount of commitment and investment - in the hundreds of millions of euros per year - to protect our democracy. But the activities are highly fragmented, reactive and disconnected - similar to large companies, only much more complex. What is missing is a strategic bracket that brings together thinking, technology and impact. This has been my specialty for decades, and this is exactly where I come in.
That is why I am working on a strategic operating system for democratic communication - with a clear methodology, with AI as a central lever and with a deep understanding of rule of law principles, strategic communication and digital infrastructure. This perspective stems from my background: a constitutionally grounded mindset as an originally trained lawyer, three decades of experience in strategic communication - and the entrepreneurial experience of having built a tech company like Scompler from idea to market leader. And with these prerequisites, I feel literally called, if not obliged, to take on this admittedly enormous task.
What drives me is the conviction that artificial intelligence can't just be part of the problem - it has to be part of the solution. If we think about it strategically. This is exactly where we come full circle with Scompler: the technological developments that we want to drive forward at Democracy Intelligence as an organization, Democracy Shield as a product and the Flood the zone with sense campaign will not only have a charitable impact - they will certainly also inspire Scompler .
Scompler remains a central part of the solution for me - as a platform, as a way of thinking, as a facilitator. I'm not going anywhere. I'm going ahead.
What an exciting time!
Mirko Lange
