Statements by Mirko Lange and Björn Bröhl

I would like to inform you today that our founder and long-standing managing director Mirko Lange will be stepping down completely from Scompler's operational business on August 31, 2025. As CEO and managing director of Scompler, my goal is to ensure strategic continuity while consistently driving forward the next phase of the company's development.

Mirko is responsibly turning his attention to something new – seven years after founding Scompler, which has since made the transition from a pioneering start-up to a fully professional, scalable technology company. Mirko's visionary ideas and commitment were crucial to a success story that has led to over 450 organizations placing their trust in our solution today.

What Mirko will be doing in the future is best described by himself. All I can say is that it suits him. It is consistent, courageous and socially relevant.

Dear Mirko, thank you for your ideas, your vision and your energy. And I am delighted that you will remain with us as a shareholder.

Björn Bröhl

CEO, Scompler Technologies GmbH

After more than ten years of building, developing, and passion, I will be stepping down completely from Scompler's operational business on August 31, 2025. I will remain closely connected to the company as a shareholder—and look forward to continuing to help shape Scompler's future behind the scenes in a strategic capacity.

Since its founding, Scompler has developed into one of the leading, internationally competitive providers of strategic content management. With over 450 customers—including numerous DAX companies—Scompler is now much more than just a tool: it is a SaaS platform that sets standards.

Seven years after its founding, the transition from a start-up to a fully professional, scalable technology company is complete. Now it needs consistent, entrepreneurial leadership. With Björn Bröhl as CEO, Scompler is excellently positioned for this: technology-oriented, focused, visionary, and future-proof. I am happy to place the company's future development entirely in his hands with absolute confidence. This also allows me to lay the foundation for devoting myself fully to a new task in the future—one that moves me deeply, not only professionally but also socially. With Democracy Intelligence, I am now building a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the democratic public sphere: the strategic strengthening of democratic and constitutional narratives, the broad ability to classify information, and the defense and creation of open, pluralistic digital debate spaces.

Like many others, I am deeply concerned about global developments, the rise of extremist forces, and the situation of the media, including social media. The threat posed by targeted disinformation is real and very dangerous. It is systematic, emotionalized, and often unscrupulous. The defense of democratic discourse has not yet been developed—neither structurally nor technologically. And too often, it unconsciously works against itself. This will not suffice in the long run.

My intensive analysis does not paint a picture that gives me much cause for optimism: although there is enormous commitment and investment—running into hundreds of millions of euros per year—to protect our democracy, the activities are highly fragmented, reactive, and unconnected—similar to large corporations, only much more complex. What is missing is a strategic framework that brings together thinking, technology, and impact. This has been my area of expertise for decades, and this is exactly where I come in.

That is why I am working on a strategic operating system for democratic communication—with clear methodology, AI as a central lever, and a deep understanding of constitutional principles, strategic communication, and digital infrastructure. This perspective is informed by my background: constitutionally grounded thinking as a trained lawyer, three decades of experience in strategic communication, and the entrepreneurial experience of building a tech company like Scompler from an idea to a market leader. With these qualifications, I feel literally called upon, if not obligated, to take on this admittedly enormous task.

What drives me is the conviction that artificial intelligence cannot just be part of the problem—it must be part of the solution. If we think strategically. This is where we come full circle to Scompler: the technological developments that we want to promote at Democracy Intelligence as an organization, Democracy Shield as a product, and the Sinnflut (Flood the zone with sense) campaign will not only be effective for the common good—they will certainly inspire Scompler as well.

For me, Scompler remains a central part of the solution—as a platform, as a mindset, as an enabler. I'm not leaving. I'm moving forward.

What an exciting time!
