Scompler supports Randstad’s internal and external communications by helping the company consistently approach communication from a “ topic ” perspective, systematically integrate storytelling, and design efficient processes.

In this interview, Sandra Pfadt explains how they integrated Scompler into their content processes and how they use the platform to manage their day-to-day communications.

Introduction to Scompler

From Channel-Based Thinking to Topic-Centered Communication

Why do you use Scompler in your communications work?

Sandra Pfadt: “We use Scompler because it allows us to optimally reflect our topic-centered approach. Instead of organizing communication by channel, we handle topics in a holistic and target-audience-oriented manner.”

"For us, this was an important step toward breaking down existing silos. Each topic is viewed as a complete story, from which we derive the appropriate actions and content for different target audiences and channels."

As Communications Manager, Sandra Pfadt is responsible for Randstad’s internal and external communications in Germany. As a strategic business partner, she and her team design communications that connect people, provide guidance, and make the brand identity tangible in everyday life. In doing so, the team sees itself as advocates for the recipients and allies of the senders.

How do you organize your " topics " and Stories with Scompler?

Sandra Pfadt: “There is one person in charge of each ‘ topic ’ or story. This person develops the communication strategy, defines the messages for the respective target audiences, and oversees the implementation. When necessary, tasks are delegated to content creators or channel managers.”

We discuss new topics , and ideas every day during a joint editorial call. This ensures that the entire team is aware of both current and future stories. At the same time, we benefit from regular discussions and a daily mini-brainstorming session.

Storytelling Across Various Randstad Channels

How has this changed your storytelling and your work with the " topics" that Randstad stands for?

Sandra Pfadt: “One of the biggest changes is that we start working on the actual story much earlier.”

Right from the start, we ask ourselves: What is the central message? What does “ topic ” mean to different target audiences? And how do we tell the story across various channels?

This allows us to ask the right strategic questions early on and provides us with a much better basis for advising our internal stakeholders.

"Above all, storytelling has taken on a whole new significance. Once the storyline is in place, it becomes much easier to plan and execute communication across various channels. This has noticeably improved the quality of our work."

Greater transparency and more efficient collaboration through Scompler as a shared platform

What benefits does Scompler offer you in your day-to-day work?

Sandra Pfadt: “Scompler has made our collaboration much easier. Tasks, content, comments, and approvals are all in one central location. We can see at any time where a post stands, where there might be a bottleneck, and who needs to be involved. This also makes it much easier to cover for colleagues who are on vacation or sick.”

"The days of working with notes, spreadsheets, or various documents are largely a thing of the past. Instead, a quick glance at the dashboard in the morning is all it takes to see the most important tasks and priorities."

How do you manage approvals and content production in Scompler?

Sandra Pfadt: “Thanks to integrated workflows, comments, and approval processes, coordination is much faster today.”

At the same time, standardized processes provide greater reliability. Important steps are not overlooked, and organizational information and key metrics are reliably recorded.

These days, we hardly ever write content in external documents anymore. Working directly in Scompler has become second nature to us. This saves time and reduces media discontinuities.

"In addition, the views in the topics and Calendar modules serve as a common foundation for meetings and coordination. This ensures that everyone involved is working with the same information and priorities."

Communication with Strategic Impact at Randstad

What specific benefits do you see in your communications work?

Sandra Pfadt: “We now have a much better overview of our communications—whether they’re internal, external, or live.”

In addition, there are hardly any topics that remain unedited for long periods of time. By consistently working with Stories, we can quickly identify when topics are losing relevance or need to be updated.

"At the same time, we can use content across channels much more efficiently. Once the storyline is developed, a lot of other things almost fall into place on their own."

"We are now much better able to fulfill our role as a strategic business partner because we always know which topics, messages, and target audiences are the focus."

How does Scompler affect the role and recognition of your communications work?

Sandra Pfadt: “For us, the greatest added value lies in the fact that we can fulfill our role as a strategic business partner much more effectively.”

Since it is always clear which topics, messages, and target audiences are the focus, we can provide more informed advice to departments and senior management and integrate communication more effectively into strategic decisions

The analytics and reporting capabilities are also particularly valuable. Instead of compiling key metrics manually, we receive relevant reports and dashboards at the click of a button. This saves time and ensures that we’re always able to provide meaningful insights.

"Collaboration with other departments has also improved. The shared platform results in fewer media breaks, greater transparency, and more efficient collaboration across departmental boundaries."
