Purpose-Driven Newsroom: Topic Focus and Cultural Change at Greenpeace

Greenpeace brings together a wide range of issues and numerous communicators under a shared purpose. But how does it manage to topics prioritize topics , break down silos, and manage communication in an integrated way?

In this session, Jan Haase, Head of Strategic Communications and Reputation at Greenpeace, and Nina Skrzyszowski, Senior Customer Consultant at Scompler, will share insights into building an integrated newsroom. They will discuss the role that cultural transformation and change management play in introducing new ways of working, and how Scompler, as a central operating system, supports the holistic planning and management of communications.

At Scompler, Nina Skrzyszowski is responsible for onboarding client projects. She guides large communications departments through change processes and assists them in implementing thematic strategies and content operations within the software. Previously, she worked as a communications specialist at the B. Braun Group and as a journalist.

Jan Haase heads the Strategic Communications and Reputation team at Greenpeace, develops long-term communications strategies, and oversees the organization’s newsroom. He has been working in communications at Greenpeace for nearly 20 years. A graduate of the Springer School of Journalism, he previously served as finance editor at Bild.de and as head of communications and marketing at Green Planet Energy.
